Recent release “Kentucky: Stories of a Regional Librarian” from Covenant Books author Don Amburgey is an enthralling tale of growth and development where conflict seems to find them around every corner and new skills are obtained.

Don Amburgey, a regional library district developer of almost three decades, has completed his new book, “Kentucky: Stories of a Regional Librarian”: a captivating coming-of-age tale.

Amburgey shares, “One word sums up the title: bildungsroman. Protagonists mature from youth to adulthood, age wisely and morally. Their growth extends from thirteen to twenty-five years of age: youth, teens, young teachers, adult librarians. The young and old get attached to their dogs. Each character faces conflict and has to resolve it. Even a teacher learns the psychology of dogs in the story ‘Quicksand.’ Time extends from 1947 to 1965, set in East Kentucky, the state as a whole, and southern Appalachia.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Don Amburgey’s new book follows the lives of the growing characters in the mid-nineteen hundreds as they overcome life’s obstacles.

Readers can purchase “Kentucky: Stories of a Regional Librarian” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
