Recent release “Color Blind” from Covenant Books author Dacie Zook is a gripping tale of a young girl left orphaned when her parents met their untimely death. After being taken in by a native, she finds she is accepted by most in the tribe, but there are some who still view her as an outsider.

Dacie Zook, an old soul who loves to ride horseback and cook, has completed her new book, “Color Blind”:  a compelling tale of acceptance and spirituality.

Zook shares, “Emma is left stranded on the Missouri frontier after her parents’ untimely death. Found by a native brave named Akocha, Emma is soon adopted into a native tribe where she struggles to fit in. Emma finds new friends in the Chickasaw tribe but also new enemies.

Emma is attacked by a brave while on a fishing trip. Akocha rushes her to a nearby town for a doctor where he is unjustly accused of beating Emma.

Tensions rise between the tribe and the townspeople who think that Emma shouldn’t live with the Chickasaw. The tribe has become Emma’s home and its people her family. Why can’t the townspeople understand that God doesn’t look at outward appearances but the heart?”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Dacie Zook’s new book, set in the author’s own home state, is a poignant tale of a girl trying to find her way with a family she chose as her own.

Readers can purchase “Color Blind” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
